World Ranger Day 2024. The theme for world ranger day 2024 is ‘30 by 30’, inspired by and landmark agreement from the 2022 united nations biodiversity conference (cop15). World ranger day is observed annually on the 31st of july and is celebrated by the international ranger federation’s (irf’s) member associations, the thin green line foundation, and by organisations, schools and individuals who support the work of rangers and the irf worldwide.

‘30 by 30’ initiative aims to address biodiversity loss and restore ecosystems by ensuring that at least 30 percent of the planet is successfully conserved and managed by 2030. The 10th irf wrc will focus on the contributions and evolution of the ranger profession to achieve target 3 of the global biodiversity framework.
